Last thursday I went to my first ever event from HEMA: A pressday. HEMA is a very well-known Dutch retailer. If you think Holland, you think HEMA. Every Dutch family has something (of a lot) from HEMA: From towels and bed linen ’till make-up and clothes. They’ve got everything!

At this event they showed their new collections and also told us about the products. I got the oppurtunity to speak with the head of dermatology: The genius brain behind HEMA’s famous face products. She talked about her products with so much passion, it really was a joy to listen to her. She told us about the new ‘Face Forward’ facecare collection and about how many research she did for the ingredients. I’m really excited about this collection, since we got to take a couple of products home with us. I already tested the ‘it’s my beautiful skin day’ day- and night creams and I absolutely love it!

Something else I was very excited about was the nailpolish and the extension of this collection. They for example added cuticle oil, nail hardener, anti-bite and quick dry drops. I’m definitely going to test those quick dry drops, they sound so promising!
Another thing that really caught my eyes were two very cool pair of socks: One with a beachy and palm trees print and the other pair with a print of the Amsterdam canals including a bike. So funny! I also really loved two (real) leather jackets, but I didn’t manage to really capture those right. Sorry!

And I’m sure many of my readers will love this: HEMA also sells lots of cute office/school/scrapbook stuff like washi tape (really hot right now) and stamps with quote phrases. So if you’re into that, make sure to visit HEMA!

But the most exciting part of all to me were the inflatable HEMA heroes! I know, so childlish, but I still love inflatable beach stuff! And these are really awesome. They had a mega smoked sausage, a mega tompouce, a mega bag of mustard and a mega Takkie (which is a character, a dog, of one of Holland’s most well-known child stories Jip&Janneke). I actually really want one of those inflatable heroes to take with me to the beach when the weather allows me to (or when I just book a ticket to the warm weather myself).
