Verrassing, ik heb mijn haar geverfd! Misschien een beetje onverwacht aangezien ik al járen (in ieder geval sinds ik deze blog begon) dezelfde haarkleur heb: Mijn eigen haarkleur (donkerblond) met blonde highlights. Maar net zoals ik vorig jaar besloot mijn coupe die al jarenlang hetzelfde was drastisch te veranderen, van lang en steil naar kort en messy (beste beslissing ooit!), vond ik het ook wel eens tijd om mijn haarkleur eens te veranderen. En ik zou mezelf niet zijn als ik dit niet ook drastisch zou aanpakken: Ik koos daarom voor de kleur hazelnoot, een bruin/rode tint. Dit was dus de eerste keer dat ik mijn hele haar verfde én dat ik het thuis deed. Mijn highlights heb ik altijd bij de kapper laten zetten, omdat ik vaak genoeg horrorverhalen heb gehoord over dat het heel lelijk zou worden als je het thuis doet. Nou, daar is dus niks van waar! Tenminste niet bij mij, ik vind het namelijk heel geslaagd. En het was ook nog eens hartstikke makkelijk om te doen.

“Ik wilde een compleet andere haarkleur en koos voor hazelnoot.”

Ik gebruikte Nectra Color van Schwarzkopf in de kleur 668 Hazelnoot (zie de afbeelding onderaan deze post). Allereerst opende ik de tube met kleurcrème en stopte de inhoud in de applicatieflacon met ontwikkelemulsie. Dit mengde ik vervolgens door de flacon te schudden. Daarna verdeelde ik het mengsel goed over m’n haar, masseerde het in en liet het 30 minuten intrekken. Wat mij overigens opviel is dat het niet stonk, integendeel: Het rook hartstikke lekker! Dit komt doordat het product geen ammoniak bevat. Na de 30 minuten was het tijd om het uit te spoelen en daarna de bijgevoegde Care Gloss conditioner (voor langer kleurbehoud en zijdezacht haar) 2 minuten in te laten werken en ook uit te spoelen. Dat was ‘t! Easy peasy!

“Doordat Nectra Color geen ammoniak bevat ruikt het super lekker!”

Ik ben echt superblij met het resultaat. Om eerlijk te zijn was ik wel bang dat het misschien niet goed uit zou pakken over mijn highlights, maar dat was dus helemaal niet nodig: Het kan prima! Als ik eerder wist dat je haar thuis kleuren zulke goede resultaten gaf (mits je een kwalitatief product, zoals Nectra Color gebruikt) en zo makkelijk was, had ik het waarschijnlijk al veel vaker gedaan. Het is namelijk een stuk goedkoper dan bij de kapper en ook wel makkelijk dat het gewoon thuis kan. Tussendoor was ik namelijk gewoon mijn kamer aan het opruimen en mails aan het beantwoorden.

Nu ben ik natuurlijk benieuwd naar jullie mening over mijn nieuwe haarkleur én ook ben ik nieuwsgierig of jullie wel eens zelf je haar hebben gekleurd.

Surprise, I dyed my hair! Maybe a bit unexpected since I’ve been having the same hair color for years already: My own haircolor is darkblond with blond highlights. But just like I decided to radically change my coupe last year, from long and straight to short and messy (best decission ever), I also thought it was time to change my haircolor. And I wouldn’t be me if I didn’t make it a big change: That’s why I choose for hazelnut, a brown/red shade. This was the very first time I dyed my entire hair ánd the first time I did it at home. I’ve always let a hairdresser do my highlights, since I heard a lot of horror stories of haircolors becoming ugly when dyeing your own hair. Well, those stories are so not true! At least not for me, since I think my DIY hair dye project was very succesfull. Plus it was super easy to do!

“I wanted a completely different haircolor and chose for Hazelnut.”

I used Nectra Color from Schwarzkopf in the color 668 Hazelnut (check the photo underneath this post). First of all I opened the tube with Color Creme and put the substance in the Application Bottle with Developer Lotion. I mixed this by shaking the bottle. Afterwards I divided the mixture over my hair, massaged it and let the product absorb for 30 minutes. Something I noticed was that it didn’t stink, on the contrary: It smelled really good! This is because the product doesn’t contain ammonia. After those 30 minutes it was time to rinse the product out and put the Care Gloss conditioner (for color long lastiness and protection from color fading) in and rinse this out as well after 2 minutes. That’s it! Easy peasy!

I’m super happy with the results. To be fair I was afraid it might not work very well on top of my highlights, but there was no need to be afraid: It works just fine! If I would have known before that coloring your hair at home would give such good results (íf you use a quality product, like Nectra Color) and was that easy, I probably would have done it a lot more often. It’s cheaper than having a hairdresser coloring your hair and it’s pretty handy that you can just do it at home. In between I was cleaning my room and answering some emails.
