If you watch my vlogs you might already know that about two months ago I started taking roaccutane again. Roaccutane is an anti-acné medicine that had worked wonders for me in the past and does again now. If you wish to learn more about this please read this blog post or watch this video. Besides battling acné it also dries out your skin quite a bit, which can be very challenging when it comes to foundation, but I managed to find one that actually works for my current skin situation. It gives a pretty high coverage, but it’s also quite hydrating; a very unique combination when it comes to foundation. Plus it’s cruelty free, which is very important to me as well. I’m talking about the Rituals Precious Mineral Foundation!

“This foundation let’s you achieve high coverage, without looking cakey.”

Not too sure
Although I love Rituals I had never tried any of their make-up products yet. They just never were really prominent displayed in the store in my town, but last week they put a couple of them on a promo display where I noticed them. I immediately got drawn towards the foundation, since I was in desperate need of a new foundation and I know for sure that everything at Rituals is cruelty free. I must say I wasn’t too sure about it at first, since the description says it gives a transparant finish to medium coverage (depending on how many layers you apply), whilst I’m looking for more of a high coverage foundation. After the sales lady shared her enthusiasm and swatched it on my jaws I decided to just go for it. Besides it costs only €20,50, which is little money compared to the 40+ euros I’m used to paying for my foundations.

Pleasantly surprised
The next morning I decided to immediately give my new Rituals Precious Minerals Foundation a try and I was pleasantly surprised. By building up the layers you can actually achieve a high coverage. Because of the hydrating consistency it doesn’t look cakey, but very naturally. It comes in 10 different shades (quite dark shades as well) and I got advised the color Ivory Beige, which is an absolute perfect match for my skin as you can tell by the before/after photo above. It blends so well! According to Rituals this is because the foundation is enriched with Amethyst gemstone. I didn’t even know that was possible, but it sounds cool!

So in short: if you’re looking for a cruelty free affordable high coverage foundation for dry skin, I really advise you to give the Rituals Precious Mineral foundation a try! But it online here or at your nearest store.

Rowan
