Eyebrows, they can make or brake your make up look and therefore it’s oh so important to always have your eyebrows on fleek. I swear by the Anastasia Beverly Hills (ABH) Dipbrow Pomade in Taupe in combination with the ABH Tinted Brow Gel in Granite. For sharpening my brows I use the ABH Pro Pencil in …. I really love these products, but I’m always up to test something new. So when I received these three products from MUA to get ‘The Perfect Brows’ I was very excited to try them. MUA Brow Kit (Fair-Mid) €5,99
First of all I absolutely love the minimal design of this kit and the mirror actually is useful: not too small and blurry. It seems to contain everything: brow powder (of course), highlighter, brow gel, a brush and tweezers. Perfect for traveling. The idea of that is nice, but I’m a person who swears by certain tweezers and brushes and I never use the ones provided in kits. I did try the brush though and I don’t like it. I find it too wide, which is a big no-no if you like sharp brows. I like the pigmentation of the brow powders though. What I don’t like though, are the colors. This might be very personal, but I find them too warm and quite orange. If you look at the last photo you might see what I mean: my brows look a bit orange! I prefer cool ashy tones, but only a few brands have them. That’s one of the reasons why I like ABH so much, their ‘taupe’ color is perfect for me! I think finding the perfect color to match your eyebrows is a very precise job and therefore don’t really believe in this ‘fair-mid’ kit. It sound a bit like ‘one size fits all’ and we all know that never works out, right? So I do like the consistency of the brow powders, but the colors not so much. The color in the down left corner is supposed to be a highlighter, but I really don’t understand how this is supposed to be a highlighter though. It has no shimmer at all, which kind of is what highlighter are known for, and it’s color is even darker than my skin color. I do like the wax though and think it’s really nice they added this to the kit. Most brands only have powders in their brow kits. So that’s a big plus. And it works! It keeps those wild hairs in place ;)
MUA Brow Define Mascara (Mid Brown) €5,99
I can see the same about this product as I just said about the brow kit: Great consistency, bad color. Again: It’s quite orange toned, which I really do not like. This can be a personal thing though, so if you do like warm colors this brow mascara might be something for you. Other than the color, it’s a great product. It adds texture to your brows and keeps them in shape.
MUA Pro-Base Argan Concealer €5,99
I really DO like this product! I even like the color, which matches my skin perfectly as you can tell by the photos above. You can also see that the coverage is great as well. It almost completely hides my scar! And it feels so soft on your skin, which must be the argan oil. It therefore is perfect for sensitive skins as well. It’s not a product I would use on any other place than for sharpening my brows though, since I think it will glide right off because of the creamy consistency.
In conclusion: The consistency of the products are all okay, but I really don’t like the colors (except for the concealer). They all have this warm orange kind of tone, while I prefer cool ashy tones. So no, I won’t swap my beloved ABH Dipbrow Pomade and Tinted Brow Gel for the MUA Brow Kit and Tinted Brow Mascara. I might use the concealer to shape my brows though, I do like the color and consistency of that one better than my ABH Pro Pencil.

Ik zweer bij de Anastasia Beverly Hills (ABH) Dipbrow Pomade in Taupe in combinatie met de ABH Tinted Brow Gel in Granite. Om mijn wenkbrauwen strakker te maken gebruik ik het ABH Pro Pencil in …. Ik vind deze producten echt fantastisch, maar ik ben er altijd voor in om iets nieuws te testen. Dus toen ik deze drie producten van MUA voor ‘The Perfect Brows’ ontving wilde ik ze zo snel mogelijk proberen. when I Zal ik mijn geliefde ABH producten verruilen voor deze MUA producten? MUA Brow Kit (Fair-Mid) €5,99
Allereerst vind ik het minimalistische design van deze kit geweldig en de spiegel is serieus bruikbaar: niet te klein en niet wazig. Het lijkt werkelijk alles te bevatten: wenkbrauwpoeder (natuurlijk), highlighter, brow gel, een kwastje en een pincet. Perfect voor onderweg. Het idee daarachter is leuk, maar ik ben een persoon die zweert bij een bepaalde pincet en bepaalde kwasten en ik gebruik eigenlijk nooit die in de kits. Ik heb de kwast wel geprobeerd en ik vind het niks. Ik vind ‘m te breed, wat echt een no-no is als je van strakke wenkbrauwen houdt. Ik vind de pigmentatie van de wenkbrauwpoeders wel goed. Wat ik minder vind zijn de kleuren. Dit is misschien erg persoonlijk, maar ik vind ze te warm en nogal oranje. Als je naar de laatste foto kijkt zie je wat ik bedoel: mijn wenkbrauwen zien er een beetje oranje uit. Ik geef de voorkeur aan koele assige tonen maar slechts een paar merken hebben deze. Dat is één van de redenen waarom ik ABH zo fijn vind. Hun ‘taupe’ kleur is perfect voor mij. Ik ben van mening dat het vinden van de perfecte kleur voor jouw wenkbrauwen een precies werkje is en geloof daarom niet zo in deze ‘fair-mid’ kit. Het klinkt nogal als ‘one size fits all’ en we weten allemaal dat dat altijd een leugen is, toch? Dus ik vind de consistentie van deze wenkbrauwpoeders top, maar de kleuren niet zo. De kleur beneden links zou een highlighter moeten zijn, maar ik begrijp niet helemaal hoe. Het heeft totaal geen glans, wat echt een vereiste is voor een highlighter, en de kleur is zelfs donkerder dan mijn huidskleur. De wax vind ik wel echt goed en ik vind het ook echt top dat ze die aan de kit hebben toegevoegd. De meeste merken stoppen alleen poeders in hun brow kits. Dus dat is zeker een plus. En het werkt! Het houdt die wilde haartjes goed in bedwang ;)
MUA Brow Define Mascara (Mid Brown) €5,99
Ik kan over dit product eigenlijk hetzelfde zeggen als over de brow kit: Goede samenstelling, maar verkeerde kleur. Nogmaals: Het heeft een oranje tintje, wat ik niet mooi vind. Dit kan iets persoonlijks zijn, dus als jij wel van warme tonen houdt kan deze brow mascara zeker iets voor jou zijn. Behalve de kleur is het namelijk een goed products. Het geeft je wenkbrauwen textuur en houdt ze in vorm.
MUA Pro-Base Argan Concealer €5,99
Dit product vind ik WEL fijn! Zelfs de kleur, welke perfect matcht met mijn huid zoals je op de foto’s hierboven ziet, vind ik top. Je kan ook zien dat de dekking erg goed is. Het verbergt mijn littekentje bijna helemaal! En het voelt zo zacht aan op je huid, wat denk ik door de arganolie komt. Daarom denk ik ook dat het perfect is voor de gevoelige huidjes. Het is niet een product die ik op andere plekken zou gebruiken dan voor mijn wenkbrauwen aangezien het er vanwege de crèmerige samenstelling waarschijnlijk zo af zou glijden.
