I’ve always been one to take good care of my teeth: I brush electric for as long as I can remember and I never had one single cavity. I’m even so obsessed with teeth, that as a kid I wanted to become a dentist. Eventually I decided to study something else, but I didn’t lose my interest in oral hygiene (which sounds pretty gross by the way). I know this sounds weird, but I can actually get really excited about new oral hygiene (I’m just gonna keep using the word) products. The new Philips Sonicare DiamondClean was no exception!

Design
The first thing I noticed about this particular electric tooth brush is the design. I never expected to fall in love with the design of a freaking tooth brush, but it happened. It’s just such a stylish device! The DiamondClean comes in 4 different colors: white, pink, purple and black. I especially love the first two. The white one features a rose geld metallic ring, which I really love! But that’s not all: even the charger is very fashionable. Believe it or not, but the charger actually is a glass. I don’t know how they do it, but it is freaking cool!
Functionalities
Of course it’s not just the design that aroused my curiosity. No, it’s also about the many functionalities of this tooth brush. You can choose from three positions: white, polish and gum care. Especially the latter is something I’m very interested in. Although I never had problems with my teeth, I do have slightly irritated gums. I know that you’ve got to brush the edges of your gums along to prevent this, but when I use my own electric tooth brush this feels too aggressive. It rather feels like I’m destroying my gums in stead of cleaning them. The DiamondClean provides a more gentle way of cleaning your gums, which is a big reason why I’d like to give this device a try. Another reason is that it’s supposed to make your teeth whiter than any other tooth brush currently does. As a big tea lover I’m always afraid of getting yellow stained teeth. With the DiamondClean I should no longer be afraid of that anymore though: it removes stains caused by coffee, tea, red wine, cigarettes and tobacco in just one week.

Ik heb altijd goed voor mijn tanden gezorgd: ik poets al zolang als ik me kan herinneren elektrisch en ik heb nog nooit een gaatje gehad. Ik ben zelfs zo geobsedeerd door tanden, dat ik als kind tandarts wilde worden. Uiteindelijk besloot ik toch iets anders te gaan studeren, maar mijn interesse in mondhygiëne is nooit weggegaan. Ik weet dat dit vreemd klinkt, maar ik ben altijd oprecht nieuwsgierig als er een nieuwe product voor mondhygiëne op de markt komt. De nieuwe Philips Sonicare DiamondClean was geen uitzondering!

Design
Het eerste wat me opviel aan deze elektrische tandenborstel was het design. Ik had nooit verwacht verliefd te worden op het design van een tandenborstel, maar toch is het gebeurd. Het is gewoon zo’n stijlvol apparaat! De DiamondClean is verkrijgbaar in vier verschillende kleuren: wit, roze, paars en zwart. Ik vind vooral de eerste twee erg mooi. De witte heeft een roségouden metalen ring, wat ik er echt gaaf uit vind zien! Maar dat is nog niet alles: zelfs de oplader is modieus. Geloofd het of niet, maar oplader is een glas! Ik weet niet hoe ze het doen, maar het is wel supercool!
Functies
Natuurlijk is het niet alleen het design dat mijn nieuwsgierigheid wekte. Nee, het gaat me ook om de vele functies van deze tandenborstel. Je kan kiezen uit drie standen: white, polish en gum care. Vooral die laatste is iets waar ik erg geïnteresseerd in ben. Hoewel ik nog nooit problemen heb gehad met mijn tanden, heb ik wel licht ontstoken tandvlees. Ik weet dat je om dit te voorkomen ook de randen van je tandvlees mee moet poetsen, maar met mijn eigen elektrische tandenborstel voelt dit veel te agressief. Het voelt eigenlijk meer alsof ik mijn tandvlees beschadig dan schoonmaak. De DiamondClean maakt het mogelijk om je tandvlees op een mildere manier te reinigen, wat een grote reden is waarom dit apparaatje graag eens zou willen proberen. Een andere reden is dat het je tanden witter zou moeten maken dan elke andere tandenborstel op de markt. Als een grote theeliefhebber ben ik altijd bang voor gele aanslag op mijn tanden. Met de DiamondClean zou ik daar echter niet langer bang voor hoeven zijn: het verwijdert vlekken veroorzaakt door koffie, thee, rode wijn, sigaretten en tabak in slechts één week.
