WHAT.A.FREAKING.AWESOME.DAY! Extrema Outdoor 2013 was amazing!
Sacha Shoes invited me and the bf to the XO live Festival at Aquabest (Eindhoven) last saturday. We got the full ‘royal’ press treatment: We got to park the car next to the entrance, got acces to the VIP area and relations deck at the main stage, got free drinks at the press area, free Wi-Fi, charge facillities and what’s best: Got to see the artists from a véééry close distance (Oh hello Eva Simons in handreach)! Experiencing a festival like this is just amazing. When our feet started to hurt, we just headed back to the VIP area to do some lounging at the beach chairs. Living the good life!
But that’s not what I wanted to talk about: I wanted to talk about the festival itself! First of all the location: Loved the fact that the festival was held at a lake. Five different stages were suited around the edges of the lake, so the artists were brought to the different locations by boat. And guess where that boat anchored? Yes, at the (floating) press area. So that’s why we got to see a lot of artists from up really close. The weather was absolutely amazing: 24 degrees! Perfect weather to do some dancing to some pretty damn fine dance tunes. Of course I visited lots of performances, but my favorites were DJ Nicky Romero and Major Lazor. Everybody knows Nicky Romero’s famous beats, so the crowd was going wild! Just when I thought the crowd couldn’t get any wilder, Major Lazor made the crowd go MAJOR wild! I already knew most of Major Lazor’s songs, but they did so much more than ‘just’ playing some records. Those guys really knew how to throw a show! One of them was crowdsurfing in a big bloated bubble, after that they made everybody pull of their shirts and throw it in the air. Are you familiar with their song Bubble Butt? Well they picked out some girls who really mastered the Bubble Butt dance out of the crowd and made them dance on the stage. But the most fun part was when they picked a random guy out of the crowd and made sure he lay down really still on the stage. The guy had no idea what he had to expect. Well, I guess he didn’t expect two Jamaican (I guess) ladies to ‘dagger’ him! ;)
Well, a picture can tell a thousand words, so you probably understand why I had the time of my life! Thank you Sacha Shoes and XO Live for this great opportunity!
Lots of love,
