Oké, begrijp me niet verkeerd: Ik ben best tevreden met mijn huidige smartphone (de Sony Xperia Z1), maar ik kan het niet helpen om af en toe toch te kijken wat de nieuwste hoogstandjes zijn op smartphone gebied. Vroeger kon het me niet zoveel schelen wat voor telefoon ik had, zolang ik maar kon bellen en sms’en vond ik het prima, maar sinds de smartphones ben ik opeens altijd op de hoogte van de nieuwste ontwikkelingen. Ik doe nu veel meer dan alleen bellen en sms’en: Ik maak foto’s, ik blog, ik email, ik onderhoud mijn social media kanalen en ook ik ben verslaafd aan candy crush. Ondanks dat ik mijn huidige smartphone nog geen jaar oud is, voelt ie door de snelle ontwikkelingen toch al een beetje oud aan. Als ik nu een nieuwe telefoon mocht kiezen (helaas moet ik nog een jaartje wachten) zou ik sowieso voor de Samsung Galaxy S5 gaan. Jup, die smartphone waar Hollands trots Doutzen Kroes model voor staat. Natuurlijk is dat niet de enige reden waarom deze telefoon bovenaan mijn verlanglijstje staat. Allereerst is het gewoon een hele mooie telefoon, die onder andere verkrijgbaar is in de kleur goud wat ik heel luxe vind staan. Een grote pré vind ik ook dat ie waterdicht is (maximaal 30 minuten tot een diepte van 1 meter). Mijn huidige telefoon is dit ook en dat zal ik echt niet willen missen. Ten eerste is het gewoon heel fijn dat je telefoon tegen een typisch Nederlandse stortbui kan en een val in de wc pot (schuldig!) ook weet te overleven. Daarnaast is het ook gewoon supergaaf om op vakantie foto’s in het zwembad te maken (ik spreek uit ervaring). Omdat ik vaak veel tegelijk doe op mijn smartphone wil ie zo nu en dan wel eens vastlopen. De Samsung Galaxy S5 schijnt echter door de 2,5 GHz quad-core processor supersnel te zijn, waardoor ik verwacht dat vastlopers verleden tijd zijn. Joepie! Ook zit er een prima camera in met bovendien een snelle autofocus, waardoor je altijd scherpe foto’s hebt. In het filmpje hierboven wordt dat heel mooi gedemonstreerd. Maar wat ik nog het allergaafst vind is de ingebouwde hartslagsensor (hoe hoger je hartsalg, hoe beter je workout) in combinatie met de S health app. Met de app houd je je calorieiname en je beweging bij. Deze feature kan hopelijk bijdragen tot het bereiken van een droomlichaam à la boegbeeld Douzten Kroes, hihi. Wat mij tot slot met de winter in aantocht erg aanspreekt is het feit dat de Samsung Galaxy S5 is te bedienen met handschoenen aan. Heel fijn als je geen koude handen hoeft te hebben als je op de bus wacht en tegelijk even facebook wil checken!

Okay, don’t get me wrong: I’m still pretty satisfied with my current smartphone (the Sony Xperia Z1), but I can’t help myself for checking for the newest innovations when it comes to smartphones every now and then. I used to not care a lot about which phone I had, as long as I could call and text it was fine for me, but since the smartphones I suddenly always know the latest trends. I do so much more than just calling and texting now: I take photos, I blog, I email, I keep track on my social media channels and I’m addicted to candy crush. Although my current smartphone isn’t more than a year old, it feels kind of old already. If I had to pick a new phone now (unfortunately I still have to wait one more year), I would definitely go for the Samsung Galaxy S5. Yes, that smartphone were Dutch pride Doutzen Kroes models for. Of course that’s not the only reason why this phone is on top of my wishlist. First of all it just is a very pretty phone, it’s among other colors available in gold which to me looks very luxurious. Another big pro is that it’s waterproof (max 30 minutes until a depth of 1 meter). My current phone is water resisant as well and I wouldn’t want to miss this for the world. First of all it’s just nice that your phone can withstand a typical Dutch downpour and will survive a fall in the toilet (guilty!). Next to that it’s just totally awesome to take vacation photos in the swimming pool (I talk out of experience). Because I often do a lot of things at the same time my phone crashes every now and then. The Samsung Galaxy S5 should be very fast though because of the 2,5 GHz quad-core processor, whereby I think crashed should be past tense. Yay! It also has a nice camera with a quick autofocus making your photos always sharp. The video above demonstrates this perfectly. But what I think might the coolest of all is the built-in heart rate sensor (the higher your heart rate, the better your workout) in combination with the S health app. This app allows you to track your calorie intake and your movement. This feature can hopefully help by achieving a dream body like Doutzen Kroes, hihi. Something else that really appeals to me now that winter is coming is the fact that the Samsung Galaxy S5 is operatable while wearing gloves. Very convenient when you don’t want to have cold hands while waiting for your bus to arrive and want to check facebook in the meantime.
