Mijn instagram (@RedReidingHood) volgers weten waarschijnlijk dat ik de MAC Viva Glam Rihanna 2 lippenstift (hier verkrijgbaar) al een tijdje in mijn bezit heb. Vanwege alle positieve reacties die ik krijg op deze lippenstift besloot ik dat ik ‘m maar eens voorbij moest laten komen op mijn blog.

Echter wou ik eerst een goed lippotlood erbij hebben. Ik kan tegenwoordig namelijk echt niet meer zonder lippotlood, omdat je er lekker strakke randjes mee kan maken, het een kleur mooier uit kan laten komen en het je lippenstift langer doet blijven zitten. Zonder lippotlood is deze lippenstift trouwens ook mooi, maar ik vind het met lippotlood toch net even wat mooier. Na wat research op internet besloot ik het MAC stone lippotlood te bestellen, welke vorige week binnenkwam. Meestal bestel ik alles via Douglas omdat het dan al de volgende dag binnen is en je geen verzendkosten hoeft te betalen, maar omdat stone een MAC pro kleur is, is deze alleen beschikbaar in de MAC pro stores en de officiële webshop van MAC. Stone was een hele goede keuze, want zoals je op bovenstaande foto’s ziet matcht ie perfect met de lippenstift!

Dan nu over de lippenstift: Wat een aparte kleur hè? Ik kan me voorstellen dat het voor sommige mensen iets te apart is, maar mij trok het juist heel erg aan. Ik vind de kleur heel lastig te beschrijven, het is een beetje bruinig met blauwe/zilveren metallic effecten erin. MAC beschrijft het zelf als ‘warm mauvey silver frost‘ wat denk ik een goede beschrijving is. Hij verandert afhankelijk van het licht ook een beetje van kleur, wat het ook heel moeilijk maakte om ‘m goed op de foto te krijgen. Het is in ieder geval geen alledaags kleurtje. Sommigen vinden ‘m ook wat too much voor lichte huidjes, maar ik vind het juist wel gaaf staan. Weer eens wat anders! Overigens blijft ie ook goed zitten, vooral als je er zoals ik lippotlood onder draagt. Als je er lippotlood onder draagt moet je er overigens wel voor zorgen dat je lippen goed gehydrateerd zijn, aangezien lippotloden je lippen kunnen doen laten uitdrogen. Nog een goede reden om deze lippenstift te kopen is trouwens dat de complete verkoopprijs van MAC Viva Glam producten naar het helpen van met HIV/AIDS besmette mensen gaat.

My instagram (@RedReidingHood) followers probably know I have the MAC Viva Glam Rihanna 2 lippenstift (available here) for quite a while already. Because of all the positive comments I got on this lipstick I thought it was time to show it on my blog as well.

First I wanted to get a good lip pencil to match with it though. I really can’t live without lip pencil anymore, since you can make really sharp edges with it, it can make a color more popping and it makes your lipstick last longer. This lipstick does look good without lip pencil as well though, but I just like it a bit better with lip pencil. After some internet research I decided to order the MAC stone lip pencil, which came in last week. I usually order everything via Douglas since they deliver the next day and for free, but since stone is a MAC pro color, it’s only available in the MAC pro stores and the official MAC webshop. Stone was a good choice, because as you can see from the photos it’s a perfect match with my lipstick!

Now about the lipstick: Quite a unique color, isn’t it? I can imagine it might be a bit too different for some people, but it really appealed to me. I find the color quite hard to describe, it’s a bit brownish with blue/silver metallic effects. MAC describes it as ‘warm mauvey silver frost’, which I think is quite a good description. It also changes a bit of color depending on the light, which also made it quite hard to take a good photo of it. It sure isn’t an everyday color. Some think it’s a bit too much for fair skinned ladies, but I love it. Something different for change! It’s pretty long lasting by the way, even more when you like me wear lip pencil underneath. When you do wear lip pencil underneath you’ve got to make sure your lips are well hydrated by the way, since lip pencils can make your lips dry. Another good reason to buy this lip stick is the fact that every cent of the selling price from MAC Viva Glam products goes to helping HIV/AIDS affected people.
