Het is al een tijdje geleden dat ik voor het laatst op vakantie ben geweest, afgelopen zomer, en ik kan het niet helpen om te fantaseren over mijn volgende vakantiebestemming. En met fantaseren bedoel ik ook echt fantaseren, want omdat mijn vriend en ik zeer binnenkort (hopelijk volgende maand al) verwachten samen te gaan wonen gaat al ons geld voorlopig naar de inboedel van ons huis/appartement (wat ook heel leuk is!), but a girl can dream right? Vandaag deel ik dan ook mijn top 5 travel bucket list met jullie waarin je zowel bruisende steden als prachtige relax bestemmingen tegenkomt. It’s already been a while since I’ve been on vacation for the last time, last summer, and I can’t help but fantasizing about my next holiday destination. And by fantasizing I really mean fantasizing, since my boyfriend and I expect to live together very soon (hopefully next month already) and so all our money will now go to the interior of our house/apartment (which of course is great as well!), but a girl can dream right? I therefore am sharing my top 5 travel bucket list with you today in which you’ll find vivid cities next to breathtaking relax destinations. 1. AUSTRALIA

Oh, wat zou ik graag ‘the land down under’ willen bezoeken. De fameuze laid-back lifestyle spreekt mij enorm aan. Ik wil gaan surfen bij Bondi Beach en de Gold Coast (ik zou het echter eerst moeten leren), barbequen op het strand en gewoon relaxen zoals de echte Aussies dat doen. Het is niet alleen die lifestyle waarom ik naar Australië wil, maar ook de prachtige omgeving. Natuurlijk wil ik graag de grote stad Sydney en het zonnige Brisbane bezoeken, maar ik zou ook graag de dromerige eilanden en het afgelegen outback willen bezoeken. Oh, en wist je dat er een roze meer is in Australië? Hoe gaaf is dat? Australië heeft nog zo veel meer te bieden! Ik zou sowieso tijdens de vreselijke Nederlandse winter naar Australië willen, dan is het namelijk hartje zomer in Australië. Ik vind overigens ook hun stijl fantastisch. Kan je je mijn post over twee geweldige Aussie girls herinneren?

O, how much I’d love to visit ‘the land down under’. The famous laid-back lifestyle really appeals to me. I want to surf at Bondi Beach and the Gold Coast (I’ll first have to learn how though), barbecue at the beach and just relax like real Aussies do. It’s not just that lifestyle that makes me want to visit Australia, but also the beautiful and diverse environment. Of course I’d like to visit big city Sydney and sunny Brisbane, but I’d also love to visit the dreamy islands and the remote outback. O, and did you know there’s a pink lake in Australia? How awesome is that? Australia has so much to offer! I would definitely visit Australia during the horrible Dutch winter, when it’s summer in Australia. I also love their style by the way. 2. USA WEST COAST

Eén van mijn grootste dromen is een road trip maken langs de USA west coast. Rijden over de Pacific Highway samen met mijn wederhelft lijkt me fantastisch. I zou zo graag naar San Francisco, Los Angeles, Las Vegas en natuurlijk de Grand Canyon en de Colorado River willen gaan. En natuurlijk zou ik willen surfen (wederom, ik moet het wel eerst leren) bij Venice Beach zoals een echte California girl zou doen.

One of my biggest dreams is taking a road trip along the USA west coast. Driving the Pacific Highway together with my better half would be so awesome. I would love to visit San Francisco, Los Angeles, Las Vegas and of course the Grand Canyon and Colorado River. And of course I also want to surf (and again, have to learn how first) at Venice Beach pretending I’m a California girl.

3. CANADA

Je weet misschien wel dat mijn vader uit Canada komt (hij is op zijn 17e naar Nederland verhuisd) en vanwege al zijn mooie verhalen en gewoon om te zien waar hij is opgegroeid zou ik heel graag naar Canada willen. Natuurlijk zou ik willen dat mijn vader met mij meegaat en samen Ontario (waar hij vandaan komt), maar ook ook British Columbia waar je de mooiste en rustigste natuur moet vinden bezoeken.

You might already know my dad is from Canada (he moved to the Netherlands at age 17) and because of all his great stories and just to see where he grew up I’d love to visit Canada. Of course I’d like my father to go with me and visit Ontario (where he’s from), but also British Columbia, since this province should offer the most breathtaking and peaceful environments.

4. HAWAII

Wie wil er nou niet naar Hawaii, oftewel het paradijs? Ik zou zo graag willen zwemmen in de natuurlijke baden gevuld door watervallen, snorkelen, surfen, het glazen strand op Kauai willen bezoeken, de elf meter hoge golven van de Banzai Pipeline bekijken en zoveel meer. Hawaii staat trouwens op nummer één van mijn vriend zijn travel bucket list. Hij kent zelfs de kaart van Hawaii uit zijn hoofd, vanwege een game die hij heeft gespeeld, lol. Handig als we ooit besluiten te gaan.

Who doesn’t want to visit Hawaii a.k.a. paradise? I would love to swim in natural pools  filled by waterfalls, snorkel, surf, visit the glass beach on Kauai, see the eleven meters high waves of the Banzai Pipeline and so much more. Hawaii actually is on top of my boyfriend’s travel bucket list. He even knows the complete map of Hawaii by heart, because of a video game he used to play, lol. Convenient if we ever decide to go.

5. NEW YORK

New York is always a good idea. Ik denk dat het iedere vrouw haar droom is om ooit eens de ‘concrete jungle’ te bezoeken, toch? Bezienswaardigheden bekijken, shoppen en bagels eten. Klinkt goed wat mijn betreft! We zijn vorig jaar bijna gegaan, maar helaas moest mijn vriend de trip annuleren vanwege een business meeting. We zullen in de toekomst zeker een nieuwe trip plannen.

New York is always a good idea. I think it’s every girl’s dream to visit the concrete jungle, isn’t it? Sightseeing, shopping and eating bagels. Sounds good to me! We almost went last year, but unfortunately my boyfriend had to cancel the trip because of a business meeting. We’ll sure plan a new trip in the future though.
