Contouring has been a trend for quite a while now and I honestly think it’s here to stay. Or at least I hope so, because I love contouring! I therefore have tried quite some contouring products already, both powder and cream. I found out that the most important part of choosing the right contouring products for you is obviously the color, but also the shade: do you need warm or cool colors? My skin’s almost porcelain colored and therefore I definitely need quite light and cool colors. Unfortunately most contouring products are too dark and warm for my skin, making it look very unnatural or in the case of highlighters (which 99% of the time are my own skin color) not visible at all. Therefore I’m very pleased to announce that their finally is a powder contouring kit that works for light skinned ladies like me: the Sans Soucis contouring kit!

Contour (left color)
Contour colors are meant to give the illusion of shadows and therefore you apply it on those places on your face were shadows will naturally appear: on your jawline, right underneath your cheekbone, one the sides of your forehead, on both sides of your nosebridge and underneath your bottom lip. This will make your face look smaller and your lips fuller. Since shadows are not warm toned (on fair skinned ladies), it’s really important that the color you use to contour has a cool tone. I prefer mauve (grey/brown/purple-ish) colors and this contour color  is exactly what I mean by that!

Bronze (middle color)
This bronzer is a bit warmer toned I must say though, but for a bronzer that’s okay, since bronzers are meant to give you a healthy sun-kissed look. Therefore also don’t apply it all over your face, but just on the cheekbones. As long as it’s not orange, which this isn’t, it’s okay. And please make sure it’s not too dark for you, otherwise it will look like you’ve got poo smudged on your face ;)

Highlight (right color)
Highlighter has to applied on those parts where the sun will naturally hit your face: your nosebridge, underneath your eyes, on your chin, on your forehead and on your cupid’s bow. This highlighter actually is lighter than my own skin color, which is very rare! It’s not a lot lighter though, so it brightens up my skin just a tiny bit. If I want a more dramatic look, I just use a white powder. All the colors in this kit are mattifying by the way, which means you don’t have to use a mattifying powder on top: saves you some time in the morning!

As you probably already noticed by now, I’m very enthusiastic about the Sans Soucis contouring kit and I would therefore definitely repurchase it. If you’re fair skinned like me and are looking for the perfect contouring kit, this is it!

Contouring is nu al een tijdje een trend en ik denk eerlijk gezegd dat het een blijvertje is. Of tenminste dat hoop ik, want ik ben dol op contouren! Daarom heb ik ook al veel verschillende soorten contouring producten geprobeerd, zowel poeder als crème. Ik ben erachter gekomen dat het kiezen van de juiste kleur, maar ook de juiste toon het allerbelangrijkst is: heb je warme of juist koele kleuren nodig? Mijn huid is bijna porseleinkleurig en daarom heb ik behoorlijk lichte en koele kleuren nodig. Helaas zijn de meeste contouring producten te donker en te warm voor mijn huid, wat ervoor zorgt dat het er erg onnatuurlijk uitziet en in het geval van hihlighters (die 99% van de tijd mijn eigen huidskleur zijn) niet eens zichtbaar is. Daarom ben ik heel blij om te kunnen melden dat er eindelijk een contouring kit is die wel werkt voor dames met een lichte huidskleur: de Sans Soucis contouring kit!

Contour (linkerkleur)
Contourkleuren horen de illusie van schaduwen te geven en daarom breng je ze aan op de plekken van je gezicht waar schaduwen natuurlijk verschijnen: op je kaaklijn, precies onder je jukbeenderen, op de zijkanten van je voorhoofd, op beide kanten van je neusbrug en onder je onderlip. Dit zorgt ervoor dat je gezicht er smaller uitziet en je lippen voller. Aangezien schaduwen niet warm getint zijn (bij dames met lichte huidjes), is het erg belangrijk dat de kleur die je gebruikt om te contouren een koele toon heeft. Ik geef de voorkeur aan mauve (grijs/bruin/paarsig) kleuren en deze contourkleur is precies wat ik daarmee bedoel! Een dikke duim omhoog dus!

Bronze (middelste kleur)
Deze bronzer is wel wat warmer getint, maar voor een bronzer is dat prima, aangezien bronzers je een gezonde sun-kissed look horen te geven. Daarom breng je het ook niet over je hele gezicht aan, maar alleen op je jukbeenderen. Zolang het niet oranje is, wat het dus niet is, is het prima. En zorg er alsjeblieft voor dat de kleur niet te donker voor je is, anders zal je eruitzien alsof je poep op je gezicht hebt gesmeerd ;)

Highlight (rechterkleur)
Highlighter hoort te worden aangebracht op de plekken waar de zon natuurlijk op je gezicht valt: je neusbrug, onder je ogen, op je kin, op je voorhoofd en op je cupidoboog. Deze highlighter is lichter dan mijn eigen huidskleur, wat echt zeldzaam is. Het is niet veel lichter, dus het licht mijn huid maar een klein beetje op. Als ik een meer dramatische look wil, gebruik ik gewoon een witte poeder. Alle kleuren in deze kit zijn matterend trouwens, wat betekent dat je niet nog een matterende poeder erboven op hoeft te gebruiken: dat scheelt weer tijd ‘s morgens!

Zoals je inmiddels waarschijnlijk wel hebt gemerkt, ben ik erg enthousiast over de Sans Soucis contouring kit en ik zou ‘m dus ook zeker opnieuw kopen. Als je net als ik een licht huidje hebt en op zoek bent naar de perfecte contouring kit, is dit ‘m!
