If you’ve watched my September favorites video this kit might seem familiar to you. As I said in my video I’m very excited about the Aveda Tulasara Radiant Awakening Ritual Kit (try to say that ten times in a row), so I thought it deserved a mention on my blog as well.

STEP ONE: Tulasara Radiant Facial Dry Brush
This kit consists out of the Tulasara Radiant Oleation Oil and the Radiant Facial Dry Brush. When I received this kit I was especially intrigued by the brush. I’ve tried dry brushing my body (for exfoliation, a better blood circulation and less cellulite) in the past, but had never seen a dry brush for the face before. I thought this facial dry brush looked very interesting with all the uneven bristles. According to Aveda the Dry Brush exfoliates your face and gives it a soft, smooth complexion. So of course I had to try it out immediately and I must say I already was very satisfied after just one use. What I did was simply brushing my dry face in a circular motion and I noticed it made my skin more matte, which is probably what they mean by a ‘soft and smooth complexion’. To me this is a very positive aspect, since I’ve got quite a greasy skin and do anything to make my skin appear more matte. Besides that dry brushing your face just feels very relaxing. Ever since I got this, I dry brush my face twice a day: in the morning and in the evening.
STEP TWO: Tulasara Radiant Oleation Oil
After you’re done dry brushing your face (which takes up less than a minute in my case) you’re supposed to give your face a facial massage with the Tulasara Radiant Oleation Oil. This oil should nourish the skin and help stimulate micro-circulation resulting in a radiant and healthy skin. I can’t really say anything about the micro-circulation part, but I can say that it definitely feels like it nourishes my skin. In stead of laying on top of my skin like most oils do, this oil really gets soaked up in my skin and therefore doesn’t leave me looking like a shiny billiard ball. Although it doesn’t make me look shiny, I still prefer mattifying products (such as The Body Shop tea tree range) during the day. But because I do think my skin could benefit from a bit of extra care, I do use this oil at night.

Conclusion
So to make a long story short: I absolutely love the facial dry brush and the way it instantly makes my skin look. I’d totally recommend dry brushing your skin as well, you’ll love it! Although I’m not a big fan of oils, I really like this oil. It doesn’t lay on top of my face like most oils, but really soaks into my skin. I use the dry brush twice a day and the oil only at night. The whole set costs 93 euros, which I’ve got to admit is a lot of money. But if you’re just interested in getting one of these products, that’s an option as well. The dry brush costs 39 euros and the oil costs 58 euros for 50 ml.

Als je mijn September favorites video hebt gezien komt deze kit je misschien wel bekend voor. Zoals ik ook zei in mijn video ben ik superblij met deze Aveda Tulasara Radiant Awakening Ritual Kit (zeg dat eens tien keer achter elkaar), dus vond ik dat deze ook een vermelding op mijn blog verdiende.

STAP ÉÉN: Tulasara Radiant Facial Dry Brush
Deze kit bestaat uit de Tulasara Radiant Oleation Oil en de Radiant Facial Dry Brush. Toen ik de kit ontving trok vooral de borstel mijn aandacht. Ik heb in het verleden weleens dry brushing op mijn lichaam geprobeerd (voor exfoliatie, een betere bloedcirculatie en minder cellulitis), maar had nog nooit een dry brush voor het gezicht gezien. Ik vond deze Facial Dry Brush met de oneven haartjes er ontzettend interessant uitzien. Volgens Aveda zelf exfolieert de Dry Brush het gezicht en geeft het een zachte, egale teint. Natuurlijk moest ik de borstel meteen uitproberen en ik moet zeggen dat ik al na één keer gebruiken ontzettend tevreden was. Wat ik deed was simpelweg mijn droge gezicht borstelen in een roterende beweging en ik merkte dat het mijn gezicht matter maakte, wat waarschijnlijk is wat ze bedoelen met een ‘zachte, egale teint’. Voor mij is dit een heel positief aspect, aangezien ik best wel een vette huid heb en er graag alles aan doe om mijn gezicht er matter uit te doen zien. Daarnaast voelt het borstelen van je gezicht gewoon heel relaxt. Sinds ik deze borstel heb, borstel ik mijn gezicht twee keer per dag: in de ochtend en in de avond.
STEP TWO: Tulasara Radiant Oleation Oil
Als je klaar bent met het borstelen van je gezicht (waar ik vaak maar een minuutje over doe) hoor je je gezicht een massage te geven met de Tulasara Radiant Oleation Oil. Deze olie zou de huid moeten voeden en de microcirculatie helpen stimuleren, wat resulteert in een stralende en gezonde huid. Ik kan niet zoveel zeggen over het microcirculatie gedeelte, maar ik kan zeker zeggen dat het mijn huid voedt. In plaats van zoals de meeste oliën bovenop mijn huid te liggen, wordt deze olie echt geabsorbeerd door mijn huid, waardoor ik er niet uitzie als een glimmende biljartbal. Hoewel het me dus niet echt doet glimmen, geef ik nog steeds de voorkeur aan matterende producten (zoals The Body Shop tea tree lijn) voor overdag. Maar omdat ik er wel van overtuigd ben dat mijn huid wel een beetje extra verzorging kan gebruiken, gebruik ik deze olie ‘s nachts.

Conclusie
Dus om een lang verhaal kort te maken: ik ben echt dol op de Facial Dry Brush en wat het doet voor mijn gezicht. Ik kan iedereen aanraden om een dry brush voor het gezicht te gebruiken, daar ga je echt geen spijt van krijgen! Hoewel ik geen grote fan ben van oliën, vind ik deze olie wel heel fijn. Het blijft niet zoals andere oliën op mijn gezicht liggen, maar wordt echt geabsorbeerd door mijn huid. Ik gebruik de Dry Brush twee keer per dag en de olie alleen ‘s nachts. De hele set kost 93 euro, wat toegegeven best een smak geld is. Maar als je geïnteresseerd bent in slechts één van de twee producten, dan is dat ook een optie. De Dry Brush kost los 39 euro en de olie 58 euro voor 50 ml.
